ST MARY'S C.O.I.


Gothic Revival Church of Ireland built 1860 and consecrated 18/12/1860, to replace the church at the bottom of Barrack St. It was designed by architect Joseph Welland. He died before the building was completed. Some of the ornaments and dedications were removed from the old church and put into this new building.

Memorial to the members of the Church congregation who took part in the Great War (WW1). Note not all of these were fatalaties. For instance Graham Toler had been a P.O.W. and later fought with the Karelia Division in Finland against the Bolsheviks. Significantly the women who played an equal part are not recorded..
