Old Nenagh Recollections
This poem was written by a Staff Sergeant Francis Kennedy, Leinsters & RASC, who was born in Abbey Lane Nenagh and died in Blackrock in March 1921. His remains were brought back to Nenagh for interment in Ardcroney Churchyard.

Another poem by Sergeant Kiely in which he recounts the tale of Andy Butler who despite entreaties by his wife not to, he insisted on ploughing his field at Poulsheshereigh on Ladies Day on 15th of August. The burning question of course is why would you plough a field in August?
