Garrykennedy House in nearby Cornode - Originally it was the residence of James Watson. The family also once owned Brookwatson outside of Nenagh. It was bought by William Parker in 1857.
Garrykennedy Tower...One local legend recorded by Maurice Lenihan states it was built for protection after an English resident received a threatening notice. Originally the only means of entry was via a ladder. It was said to have had a conical slate roof using material from the nearby Curraghbally Slate Quarry. Other versions state that it was one of four towers that William Parker intended building for a new house. Eventually it was resigned to be a folly with a viewing window for the nearby lake. At present, Planning permission has been recently granted to renovate and return the tower to this use.
